As is usual for feminists, you're distorting data (or you are misinformed).
The main article mentioning the "80/20 rule" was this blog post on OK Cupid: https://web.archive.org/web/20131214162458/http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/your-looks-and-online-dating/ (and OK Cupid’s user data is in the millions, so quite meaningful).
The one you mention (and others) just followed.
And the point is not "80% of women only date 20% of men", as you wrote, but:
- Women find attractive just 20% of men.
- Men find desirable 80% of women.
Of course women can still date someone they're not much attracted to, if he has other qualities they appreciate. Still the disparity in attraction/desire is huge, and it looks like feminism try to deny it. Probably because it's proof women have more power in relationships (since men desire women much more than the vice-versa), and they are way more selective than men (one reason so many women remain single nowadays).
