And, anyway, it's more likely the "top 20%" than 2%. Do you know than, through the ages, 50% of men never reproduced? This means that women always discarded at least half of men, those not "above average".
And of course many women somehow "settle" despite their hypergamous nature, especially in their "building a nest" phase. But, again, on average their mate is chosen mostly because he's a provider and/or he offers safety and stability - not because of his "emotional intelligence".

If you really knew your gender, and were honest, you would know that women are just as shallow as men, and a tad more opportunist. But, of course, as a feminist you would never accept that: you need to cling to the fairy-tale idea that "women are better".
