From this answer, it looks like liberal women often marry (choose) conservative men. I wonder why is that?
Some reasons might be:
- A conservative might seem a better provider (a liberal might write you poetry, but that doesn't pay the bills ;-).
- A conservative might seem more emotionally stable and reliable (a liberal might be all about feelings and romance and maybe into "free love", while a conservative is usually keener on monogamy and family).
- A conservative might seem more handy with practical stuff (a liberal might pursue big idealistic goals, but can he fix the car or the house?).
Of course these are kind of clichés, yet those differences exist and might steer a woman in her choices; especially when she's thinking about raising a family or looking for security.
I mean, sometimes we choose a partner because his/her qualities satisfy our immediate needs - but we neglect to consider how the same qualities might annoy us later on (e.g. a woman likes a man who's strong and self-assured... but later she finds him arrogant and overbearing).
Pondering why did you choose him doesn't solve the issue, of course, but it might give food for thoughts.
