I agree with the 80/20 rule, but on this topic it seems like this to me:
- 80% of men like "normal" women and aren't looking for supermodels, while the other 20% have unreasonable standards.
- For women it's the reverse: 20% of them like "normal" men, while 80% dream about their "Prince Charming" coming to sweep them off their feet.
It's not just their fault, BTW, they are "brainwashed" by rom-coms, chick flicks and much feminist crap ("All women are beautiful", "The are all princesses and deserve a prince", "They all deserve the best", etc.).

I'm not a sociologist, though, so I don't have the real numbers :-) But reading on the Net it looks somehow like this. If "80% of men and women are just fine with each other" - as you state - it's hard to explain why about 50% of marriages fail. :-O
