IMHO, few women have that point of view (viewing men as threatening and avoiding them); usually they are neurotic, traumatized and unbalanced. Most women - the sane ones - appreciate men and want their company (otherwise most people would be single and we'll go extinct).

It's just that the women you refer to are often the more vocal, and amplified by media.
