In part this is due to personal goals (we're all different).

In part, though, I think it's due to a double standard promoted by feminism:

- Women can do anything they want, and it's fine.

- Men have to follow women's needs and desires - otherwise they're "bad men".

Hence when these women choose a LAT lifestyles most people say "You go girl!", while a man is often judged or accused of selfishness.
