Interesting observation. :-)
I cringe as well when I hear "Highly Sensitive": it reminds me of whiny people who think they are "special" and demand special treatment from others. Or people who mistake being fragile or brittle with being sensitive. Yes, "wokes", "snowflakes" and "Karens" come to mind. ;-)
AFAIK, though, HSP is the common term used in psychology, so I'm afraid we're stuck with it.
A more accurate term could be "Emotionally fragile and less resilient person"... but I don't think that would be received well! ;-D
