Although I'm afraid the worst self-defeating habit, for Dems, it's their obsessions with minorities' issues (e.g. trans people) over majority's problems. It looks noble, but it's terrible at the ballots.

Anyway, I thought a smart guy like you could spell "dilettante" ;-)
