Interesting thoughts, but much detached from reality.

In most ways, our time is better than all the times before (*). But one can be aware of this only when considering the whole picture. If one instead focuses on just the bad and the dark and the scary, of course this time will seem awful. But this hasn't to do with actual reality, rather with attention bias.

(*) Of course it's still far from perfect. Because perfect never existed and never will. Reality will always include both light AND darkness.
