James, I'm sorry, but I think you still "don't get it" ;-)
Women's "Men don't get it" has never been ONE thing: it's EVERYTHING they want men to get - but they don't.
Very often, women don't really say what they want or think; they hide their feelings; they don't expose themselves. Because it's safer and less stressful that way.
Hence, they often do not assume responsibility for their own needs or issues; but they put that responsibility on the men, who should "get it"!
In practice, a woman saying "Men should get it" is assuming a childish attitude of non-responsibility, expecting the man to "magically" understand and satisfy her needs - without her making any effort or exposing herself.
Typical examples:
- He "What's wrong?" - She "Nothing! (you should get it without me telling you!)"
- She "Do what you want" - He "Ok" - She (thinking) "Why can't you get that I want X and not Y?"
