"Limerence" is another name for it.
Romantic love, as often portrayed in the media, is all about overwhelming emotions, obsessive attachment, addiction and limerence. The funny thing is, for most of human history it was seen as a pathological condition (even Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" is supposed to portray it as insanity). It was Romanticism that elevated it to an ideal, about two centuries ago.
