And besides, there are two other reasons:

- Feminist messages that shame men approaching women (because apparently lots of feminists hate men and don't want them around - just check the "Women do not need men" slogans).

- The many women that, when approached, behave in cold, hostile or aggressive ways (check some comments here about that). Of course, when it happens again and again one just gets discouraged and stops trying.
