Some days ago, a woman who contacted me on a dating site cancelled our date, because when reading again my profile she felt I had "impossible standards". :-o

(it's true that I'm looking for a great woman, but it's nothing more than what I can offer)

Instead of being pissed or arguing, I calmly replied that I disagreed with her, but I thanked her anyway for her sincere reply (I actually prefer this than lame excuses or ghosting), and wished her good luck.

This kind of civil and "classy" response made me feel great, and it left - I think - a better impression than any arguing or blaming or complaining.

After all, hers was an obvious emotional reaction (out of fear or insecurity or whatever), and no amount of arguing or cajoling would ever change an emotional reaction.
