Thanks a lot for saying this out loud.
While some say that this is due to the "patriarchy" (because, you know, somehow is always "men's fault"...), I'd say that this is mostly due to feminism and its misleading messages:
- Women first and foremost (so men be damned).
- Women are free to do everything (so, even being obnoxious).
- Only women's suffering matters (because feminism only talks about that).
- All women are princesses (so they're on top of everybody else).
- Women deserve to be loved no matter what (so they don't need to do anything for their partner).
Etc.
While at first this may sound "empowering", it actually creates lots of entitlement and selfishness: "It's all about me, me, ME; everything revolves around ME", and so on. Lots of feminist messages take responsibility and accountability away from women; the result is spoiled, child-like behaviors ("The man has to do everything to make her feel good; the woman does not").
If you disagree with me, try the "reverse gender test": read the above list, but putting "men" in place of "women". Would you be okay with that? :-)
