Mhh, I'm not so sure about this. I've heard several people expressing regrets about having child(ren) - mothers included. It's a minority, sure, but not "very few".
Of course they do not usually express their regrets out loud, because they know they would get lots of judgment and backlash (for most people children are kind of a "sacred totem" you cannot question). Only in therapy, or in very intimate conversations, this issue pops up.
It's a bit like saying to your spouse "I regret having married you": many people think that, sooner or later, but very few dare to say that out loud.
