Well, I'm not a marriage lawyer, but AFAIK amicable and serene divorces are a small minority. Most are horrible experiences for everybody involved.
I didn't mean "fail" = "disaster"... but how many people do you know that consider a divorce "a success"?!?
Marriages are meant "forever"; vows are exchanged talking about "Till death do us part"; women especially dream about "never ending love". When half of them end prematurely in bitter divorce, it cannot be read as anything but a failure. Refuting this sounds just like denial and mirror climbing.
